Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) support people experiencing intellectual and/or developmental diversities (I/DD), providing assistance to live their lives and enjoy the same benefits as people without disabilities. They support people in ways that enhance inclusion and independence.
DSPs are employed to provide a wide range of supportive services to people on a day-to-day basis, including mastering life skills, health needs, personal care and hygiene, transportation, recreation, housekeeping and other home management-related supports, so that people can live and work in their communities and lead self-directed, personal and social lives.
lifempowered DSPs work in a wide range of settings, including (but not limited to) family homes, people’s own homes, small residential group homes and our community at large.
lifempowered provides ongoing training to all DSPs.
Shifts available range from part-time to full-time positions, on all days and hours.
It just might be the most important job you ever do!
